Great article! About PNG transparency AlphaImageLoader on div, span, tables… elements, without a .js file, we´ll find the solution on 49abcnews.com code: Using conditional comments and CSS like this:

CSS
#element {
background-image: none;
filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader
(src=”http://media.49abcnews.com/img/trans-white-20.png”, sizingMethod=”scale”);
}

An example applying a shadow-effect over gradient background image:

Yep! I love the nifty cubes, too! Note that you can use Nifty corners cube for layouts, creating beautiful looking sites from scratch (round corners mean so much in the design!). AND, Nifty works well with absolute positioning!

For a real-life example, check out my site; all rounded corners were done using Nifty.

Thanks for linking to the article!

As I point out in my comments, much of that time dragged out precisely because I'm kinda lazy. However, the whole task is about knowing how to stay calm and stay in control of one's own creativity.

As for the graphic designer issue...

In a perfect world, graphic designers would let go pixel-perfection across browsers (presentation in IE looking just like presentation in Firefox etc.) but still insist on (and work toward) solid consistency across a given site.

Uhm, VERY important correction: Scott Ramsoomair has NOTHING to do with FACE. It was developed by me (Faruk Ates) and Tim Hofman, and it's my original concept, which is why it carries my name.

Scott Ramsoomair is a cartoonist, who happened to made a comic that had "FACE" in one of its frames, and I've used that frame (and gave him full credit for the comic image, of course). He has nothing to do with the technology, FACE.

I'm leading a group purchase for BrowserCam.

The service is pretty spendy on an individual basis, but they're offering a special for a group purchase via fundable.com. I'm trying to get a group of 20 people at $25/person. Reserve your spot now. The service includes "12 months of Unlimited access to the Capture service and unlimited access to 30-minute Remote Access sessions on Windows, Mac and Linux machines."

Check out BrowserCam with a 24hr trial at http://www.browsercam.com

Here are the details of the special https://www.fundable.org/browsercam
